Welcome to YWCA Durham - A Turning Point For Women
We're deeply committed to meeting the needs of women and their children in Durham Region who experience violence and abuse. If you need help right away, access our services here.
Everyone needs a place to call home.
We offer four different types of housing from emergency shelter to long term rent-geared-income housing. Our housing services are unique in that they are paired with access to counselling, employment and life skills programs that prepare women for successful transition into the community.
The Impact of COVID-19.
We follow the most stringent protocols as set by Public Health Durham in everything we do, including hand-washing, wearing masks, frequent cleaning, food service, and more. We have adapted our programs and physical spaces to ensure the safety of clients and staff at all times.
Our place can be your space.
Our historic Adelaide House offers a unique meeting place for special events, business functions, and social gatherings. We also have a newly renovated full-sized gymnasium and fun Club Room for rent at our Community Enrichment Centre. [Please note that room rentals are suspended until the end of August 2021.]
We invite you to get involved with YWCA Durham in a way that's right for you.
Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date on special events and ways to help. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of women and children impacted by violence.
